Family Design with Touches of Modernity: Paneled Headboards and Cozy Spaces

This interior design project, led by Alberto Torres, transforms a 131m^2 two-story duplex penthouse in Torremolinos, Málaga, into a cozy and practical refuge. Conceived to maximize the enjoyment of the idyllic Malaga coast, the design focuses on creating an environment that combines functionality with a homely warmth, especially designed for owners who wish to escape the low temperatures of their country of origin.

Design Highlights

The concept revolves around visual cleanliness, luminosity and order, using natural light as a key element to ward off the feeling of cold and create cozy spaces.

This focus on design and functionality ensures that the apartment not only meets the family's daily needs, but also offers a warm welcome to guests, creating a welcoming and adaptable environment.

This apartment has been meticulously designed with a family of three in mind, while offering the flexibility to accommodate family and friends. At the heart of the design are the paneled headboards, both in the master bedroom and in the secondary bedroom, intended for the daughter. These not only bring a sophisticated and cohesive aesthetic to spaces, but also incorporate integrated light fixtures, providing warm and functional ambient lighting.

Prioritizing functionality, the design clearly defines each space, incorporating outdoor areas on terraces that merge with the interior thanks to a palette of colors and materials that reflect the Mediterranean environment. Soft and fresh tones, such as white, blue and gray, are complemented by touches of metal, glass and porcelain, creating an atmosphere that invites rest and enjoyment.

The choice of materials—steel, glass and stone—reflects the owners' desire to highlight elegance, freshness and natural texture, respectively, achieving a perfect balance that enhances the sober and elegant style of the space. This approach extends to the bathrooms, where stone-effect cladding is introduced to add warmth.
